Low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific on Aug. 27 introduced post offices across Vietnam where passengers can pay for their tickets.
According the budget airline, its passengers who book flights online or by phone can conduct the payments in cash at 1,100 post offices operated by the Vietnam Post Corporation in 63 provinces and cities.
These payments are accepted for domestic flights only.
Jetstar Pacific is partially owned by Australia Qantas Group’s which has just increased its stake in the low-cost carrier from 18% to 27% as part of a capital injection plan for the airline.
Qantas said in a statement that its 18% stake in Jetstar Pacific was equivalent to US$30 million and that it would complete the acquisition of more shares to obtain the targeted 30% stake by 2010 under an agreement signed with Vietnam’s State Capital Investment Corporation in 2007.
