Over 6,000 travelers purchase tours directly at HCMC Tourism Day 2017

More than 6,000 visitors purchased tours directly from travel agencies at the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Day 2017 which was organized at Le Van Tam Park in District 1 from March 23-26. The total revenue of travel companies reached VND45 billion (US$1.95 billion) during the four-day event.

Travelers have been interested in short trips, sea tours in the country and international tours to Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan (China), South Korea and Japan on the occasion of the upcoming national holidays with discounts from 30-50 percent.

According to a representative of BenThanh Tourist, the total revenue of the company during the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Day 2017 was over VND2 billion, double compared to the same period last year.

The Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Day 2017 themed “Hello summer” attracted travel agents, hotels and representatives from tourism promotion agencies of 39 cities and provinces nationwide to publicize their brands and offer tourist products to local and international travelers.

Travel agencies, airlines taking part in the event, including Saigontourist, Ben Thanh tourist, TST Tourist. HCMC Tourism Association, Vietnam Airlines and others offered discounts on tours and cheap airfares during the event.

Various activities including photo exhibition on Ho Chi Minh City Tourism; meeting between leaders of the tourism industry of provinces and cities and holiday makers; art performances and among were launched during the festival.
The event’s organizer, the HCM City's Department of Tourism also awarded tourism awards to leading travel brands in the city in 2016. The titles include leading inbound tour operators, leading outbound tour operators, leading local tour operator, best small and medium sized travel company, leading 3-4-5 star hotel, leading tourist transport operator, leading tourism service provider, the most attractive destination and top start-up tourist businesses.
