Vietnam Airlines marks its 8,000th safe flight on Airbus A350

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) held a ceremony marking its 8,000th safe flight on Airbus A350-900 XWB.

The airline also received the eighth of the order on 14 Airbus A350 aircraft this week. Vietnam Airlines’ A350s are currently operated by around 100 Vietnamese pilots.
Since the carrier received the first A350-900 in 2015, this move is aimed to promote its brand name to be the first carrier in Asia to own the wide-body aircraft types.
As planned, the carrier will receive 33 wide-body airplanes, including 19 Boeing 787 and 14 Airbus A350 from 2015 till 2019.
Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus A350-900 are among the world’s most modern and advanced wide-body aircrafts.
VNA said it is planning to change aircrafts which are able to help save energy and environmental friendly.
They will be used on international long routes in the country, Europe and North America, including Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City-London/Frankfurt/Paris/Seoul/ Shanghai.
